Sustainable Sourcing

Saffron is one of the world’s most coveted and luxurious ingredients. Known as “Red Gold” in Persian culture, it was cherished by ancient Persian queens and noblewomen who infused saffron oil into their beauty rituals as a youth-preserving elixir. Its potency lies in crocin and crocetin, two powerful carotenoids renowned for their skin-rejuvenating benefits. Yet, while saffron spice is highly sought after, saffron oil is even rarer due to its complex and labor-intensive production process.

Our founder, Diana Azimi, spent a year searching globally for the finest quality saffron oil to perfect Reine de Safran. The saffron oil used in our signature formula is ethically sourced and produced in small batches in Morocco. Each year, within a limited two-month harvest window, the crimson pistils of the saffron crocus flower are meticulously handpicked.

These delicate pistils are then dried and distilled repeatedly over a six-month process, preserving their potent skincare properties. Every step is done by hand, ensuring that the integrity of this precious botanical is fully retained in every drop of Reine de Safran.

From Passion to Crafting Excellence

Back from her second home Hong Kong, Diana spent two years sourcing the rest of the ingredients and perfecting her formulation of Reine de Safran at a local beauty laboratory following EU Cosmetic Regulations.

To ensure that the product works well with all skin tones and types, including oily skin, Diana rigorously tested 300 creams on the market and worked on 15 versions of the product before reaching the desired texture, density and feel.

By working with local businesses and keeping production to a small scale, Diana ensures that every product is formulated to a high standard. All ingredients used in the product are vegan, toxin-free and cruelty-free and are regulated by the European Union. The product has also passed all ISO requirements, ensuring safety for all skin types.
